33rd Annual Webster Lake Ice Fishing Derby

The Webster Lake Fishing Derby is a traditional family event open to anglers of all ages. Hot food, a heated tent, a bonfire and restrooms will be available at Griffin Beach on Webster Avenue. Thirty-six trophies will be awarded to children ages 15 and under, and additional cash prizes will be awarded on both days of the event. Pre-register for the Derby ($10 for adults, $2 for children 15 and under) at Newfound Sales & Trading Post in Franklin or at the derby from 5 a.m. - noon on Saturday. Regular registration continues through noon Sunday. The 2012 fishing derby is sponsored by the Franklin Elks Lodge 1280, the Webster Lake Association and the Franklin Outing Club. IS THE ICE SAFE?

All frozen bodies of water are to be considered potentially dangerous. Ice does not form uniformly over the entire surface of a water body. Ice thickness at one location should not be considered to be indicative of ice thickness over a whole water body or geographic region. Persons who are not personally familiar with the ice conditions should systematically and safely check the ice thickness before undertaking any activity on the ice.

2012 General Information

One freshly caught trout will be eligible for the Grand Prize.
Bass will not be eligilbe for any prizes.
All ticket sales are final. No refunds.
Pre registration at Newfound Trading Post corner rt11 and rt 3A.
Littering is a state law violation. Carry out all you came in with.
